Several people, businesses honored at 2024 Minority Business Opportunity Awards

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – On Wednesday, June 13, more than two hundred people gathered at the annual Minority Business Opportunity Awards as the Greater Shreveport Chamber honored outstanding local businesses and professionals at Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino.

During the ceremony, dozens of distinguished attendees and businesses were recognized for their leadership empowerment and development in the community. The Lifetime Achievement recipient was Maxine Sarpy, and the business of the year recipient was Yokem Toyota.

On June 13, 2024, business owners and professionals who are making a difference in our community were honored at the Minority Business Opportunity Award.(KSLA)

Organizers said for twenty years, the annual event it’s a way for the community to honor those who serve the Shreveport area.

“The pillars of our organization is celebrating our region, so being able to identify and recognize people who are making a huge impact, that makes us feel good because we are able to identify those diamonds, those folks who are making that impact,” President of Shreveport Greater Chamber Tim Magner said.
