Sewing Shack invites you to rethink consignment shops

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Your packed closet could hold extra cash. Consignment shops can help sell it for you, and help shoppers find good deals!

But how does it work?

Julie Gustafson owns Sewing Shack in Topeka’s Brookwood Shopping Center, SW 29th and Oakley. She visited Eye on NE Kansas with their bridal consultant Janette Feldkamp.

Sewing Shack is unique in that they consign bridal and formal wear. A person can bring a new or gently-used items, and Sewing Shack scores sites to find the fair price. Once it sells, the amount is divided between their store and the item’s owner.

In addition to selling items, Sewing Shack also offers a bridal consultant experience. Janette said it is fun to help people find their dream items and realize they don’t need to go to an exclusive boutique to get personal attention.

You can check out Sewing Shack during their Summer Sale, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 5 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 6.
