A racy video of Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., in a skimpy MAGA swimsuit video flaunting her ‘womanhood’ took the internet by storm over the last week.
Americans were surprised to learn through the video that Luna, 35, was a former Sports Illustrated model, a few of the many unexpected former jobs held by members of Congress.
She’s not the only one who used to have a ‘cool’ job before writing laws.

Kamala Harris used to work at McDonald’s
If elected, Kamala Harris would break ground on a number of firsts, not the least of which is being the first ex-McDonald’s worker to become president.
Harris worked at a McDonald’s in California in the summers after her freshman and sophomore years of college at Howard University.
An ad released last week by the Harris campaign touted her past employer:
‘Determination is how Kamala Harris went from working at McDonald’s to prosecutor, state attorney general, U.S. senator and our vice president — in only one generation.’
Her past job at the beloved American franchise came up multiple times during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this week.
Rep. Burgess Owens used to play for the NFL
Owens, 73, a Republican from Texas, played for the Jets throughout the 1970s and was a part of the Raiders 1980 Super Bowl championship team.
In 1983 he moved to New York City to found a business software company with his brother, but the venture didn’t catch, and the two later filed for bankruptcy. He then moved to an apartment in Brooklyn and worked as a security guard and a chimney sweep before reentering the business world.

Rep. Rick Crawford, cowboy-turned-rodeo announcer
Crawford, R-Ark., used to ride bulls in the rodeo before a serious injury in 1993 kept him out of the saddle permanently. He then started commentating rodeos on the radio and launched a music career, sometimes featured singing while riding his horse.
He later became a news anchor and fist ran for Congress in 2010.

Rep. Kevin Hern, ‘McCongressman’
Harris isn’t the only former McDonald’s employee: in 1987, Hern, a Republican from Oklahoma, moved to Arkansas and took a job at McDonald’s. A decade later, he bought his first franchise of the fast food chain and at one point owned 18 in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area.
Hern also has his pilot’s license and sometimes flies himself to and from Washington on his private plane.

Rep. Jay Obernolte, video game producer
Obernolte, R-Calif., first launched his own company ‘Far Sight Studios’ in California in 1990 in his CalTech dorm room. The company first made games for the Nintendo Entertainment System and now makes them for PlayStation, XBox, Nintendo Switch, Oculus and more.
His first video game, ‘NFL ’95,’ became a surprise success and is said to be competition to the EA Sports’ Madden games.

Rep. Rich McCormick appeared in Marine Corps commercials
McCormick, a former Marine pilot, appeared in ads for the Corps’ as a swordsman.
After the Marines, he joined the Navy and became a commander and earned an MBA and medical degree between deployments. He was an ER doctor in Georgia before being elected to Congress.
Boebert, R-Colo., and her ex-husband Jayson previously owned and operated an establishment called Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colorado, where wait staff openly carried holstered weapons and diners were encouraged to carry while in the restaurant.
One former cook told DailyMail.com Boebert had once pointed a loaded weapon at them then laughed because they’d been a Democrat. Boebert denied it through a spokesperson.

Eli Crane was on Shark Tank
Crane, a Navy Seal turned House Republican from Arizona, and his wife Jennifer scored money for their bottle opener company Bottle Breacher from Mark Cuban and Kevin O’Leary on Shark Tank in season six of the show, which aired in 2014. The bottle openers are mad out of .50-caliber shell casings.
In 2018 Crane boasted to CNBC that his company was in the top 20 selling companies from Shark Tank of all time.
