SGPN Parlay For Wednesday (August 14th): MLB Parlay

MLB Wednesday: Kansas City Royals vs Minnesota Twins

Start Time – 1:10 PM EST

The Royals offense has been sputtering a bit as of late. Some people have been critical because they didn’t get to debuting starter Zebby Matthews on Tuesday. However, he was a highly touted prospect who doesn’t walk anyone. On Wednesday they get a much easier matchup. Louie Varland has a 6.46 ERA on the year and has given up at least three runs in all but one start this year. The Royals should find a way to get back going with him on the bump.

On the other side, Cole Ragans has been his usual flame-throwing self. He not only should be able to limit this Twins offense to get the victory here, but I like his chances to keep his strikeout numbers up. I like the alternative line here (6+ Ks0 because it’s a nice boost to the overall parlay and feels like it gives you some wiggle room for something to go wrong. He’s had at least six strikeouts in each of his last three starts, and should have it again here.
