Shannon Ullman has been writing in the ecommerce space for five years and has been traveling around the world for 20 years. She has been to 44 U.S States, 31 countries, and six continents. She spent three years living and traveling around Asia. Her areas of expertise are outdoor recreation gear, road trips, camping, and travel tech.

Experience
After graduating from Temple University in Philadelphia, Shannon relocated to Fuzhou, China, for a year to teach English as a second language. Afterward, she spent two years traveling and living around Southeast Asia, where she taught ESL in Vietnam and Thailand. This adventure led her to freelance writing, where she wrote copy and blog articles for tourism companies and lifestyle websites.
She eventually moved back to the United States, where she built a career in writing and editing for large brands and media companies like Healthline, MedicalNewsToday, and National Geographic. Shannon started diving into the commerce space, testing products and writing about them. She’s written commerce content for brands like GQ, SELF, Shape, National Geographic, VeryWellHealth, VeryWellFit, CNN Underscored, Forbes Vetted, and Business Insider.
Shannon now lives in Boise, where she’s frequently hiking the trails, car camping, RV camping, river rafting, and generally exploring the outdoors. She’s always trying out new products and gear to make her adventures easier and more fun.
