She had zero work experience, no resume. How the woman bagged the job over 800 contenders

What does the resume of the “most successful hire” look like? Sometimes they come with no resumes! A LinkedIn post of a CEO, who claimed to recruit a candidate who had zero experience and did not even submit a resume has gone viral. Tasleem Ahmed, the founder of a ghostwriting agency wrote that he had no qualms about hiring an applicant with no resume or job experience.

“My most successful hire had ZERO “experience”. In pure Gen-Z style she didn’t even submit a resume. Instead she did something a lot better,” he wrote. Rather than submitting a traditional CV, Fateh shared that she created a “video application” to showcase why she was the right candidate and uploaded it on LinkedIn.

“I hired her over 800 other applications. Fast forward 6 months: She is now an equity partner with me. She now runs all my agency operations. She got our clients 30 million views last month (That’s a million agency views per day),” he said listing her accomplishments after he hired her.

Fateh shared a key message for hiring managers on how they should approach the recruitment process: “I’ve always believed that 99% of jobs can be learned. Laiba is living proof of this. Hiring managers, your best candidate won’t always have the most impressive resume. It will be the one who is eager to learn. Give people a chance,” he wrote.

The post quickly gained traction, earning over 3,000 likes and a flood of positive comments praising his unconventional and compassionate hiring method.

One user commented, “A great manager who is open-minded and willing to teach can recognize potential, even if it’s hidden. The desire to grow and learn should be a priority when hiring. The person with no experience might just become your best employee with the right guidance, patience, and support. A good manager sees not just what someone is today, but what they can grow into tomorrow.”Another echoed this sentiment, writing, “This is why hiring for character is so important. Those willing to put in the work are the best hires! When I was hired, I didn’t even have a resume or any experience in social media marketing. She skipped the resume and jumped right into delivering results! Isn’t that exactly what a hiring manager should focus on?”Fateh shared a key message for hiring managers on how they should approach the recruitment process: “I’ve always believed that 99% of jobs can be learned.
