Shopping cart fire causes power outage at Las Vegas strip mall, no injuries reported
Las Vegas (KSNV) — The Clark County Fire Department responded to reports of a shopping car on fire near a business over the weekend.
The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 at a strip mall, located at 3421 E Tropicana Ave, near Pecos Road.
Initial reports indicated that a shopping cart was on fire near the electrical panel of the strip mall. Fire crews arrived at 2:02 p.m. but could not locate the fire until about four minutes later.
Additional crews were called and the fire was contained by 2:11 p.m., according to officials.

There was no fire extension into the building although the adjacent panel of power meters was damaged. NV Energy later responded to evaluate the electrical panel and secure power.
Due to the damage, several businesses in the strip mall lost power.
No injuries were reported.
