Shopping Center Evacuated Friday Morning – The MoCo Show

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the Fox Chapel shopping center in 19700blk of Frederick Rd in Germantown for the report of a gas leak on Friday, November 15.

According to MCFRS spokesperson David Pazos, there is a ruptured 2-inch gas line outside of the center. Nearby buildings are being evacuated and checked for gas levels. There are no reported injuries or gas detected inside any structures. Washington Gas is on the way to the scene.

At noon, Pazos shared that “crews continue to monitor and metering commercial stores for gas migration while Washington Gas works to shut off the 2 inch ruptured gas line. No injuries.”
