Shopping local for the holidays

Like a kid in a candy store, Mary Beth Babcock, founder of Meadow Gold Mack’s is amped up for the holiday season.

“First holiday for Meadow Gold Mack on Route 66,” she said.

It’s an emporium of the carefully cultivated…

“Beautiful, it’s from this company called BC Skee pottery,” she said.

The hard to find anywhere else…

“Where else are you going to find an upcycled Santa snowman robot?,” she said.

“It’s been a dream of mine to own my own store and so to be able to take my online business, I’ve also done flea markets, and to be able to have my own storefront it’s a dream come true.

Back at Mack’s…

“It’s a total Tulsa made project from start to finish,” said entrepreneur Rosemary Daugherty. She sells super cool paint by number kits of Tulsa favorites.

“We’ve got the Cain’s ballroom, the old Phantasmagoria. Me and Robby Bell had some wonderful talks and he told me some wonderful stories about this ride,” she said.

The continued rise of the shop local vibe, with vendors optimistic for a holly jolly Christmas.

“To me the individually owned businesses are what give the city the character,” said Babcock.
