Shopping mall Santa has best reaction to girl’s huge request: “The look”

A shopping mall Santa Claus had the most hilarious reaction when one little girl revealed what she wanted for Christmas this year.

Parents are planning on spending an average of $173 per child on holiday gifts, according to a survey of just under 500 moms conducted by the parenting website What To Expect.

Silvia Solorio’s daughter, Aurora, wants something that money can’t buy this year though: a sister. “She has been wanting a sister for about two years now,” Solorio told Newsweek.

“Aurora has one of the most gentle souls in this world. Every single time she sees a baby her beaming smile melts me. There’s no doubt in my mind that she would be a loving big sister.”

Silvia Solorio captured the shopping mall Santa’s reaction to her daughter’s request. His expression said everything.

Though Solorio isn’t currently pregnant or planning on getting pregnant in the near future, she hasn’t ruled out the possibility of one day adding to her family, which includes Aurora’s two older brothers.

“I do have intentions of making her dream come true and give her a little sister in the near future but she does suffer from severe asthma and once we control that I think I’ll be ready for another baby,” she said.

That hasn’t stopped Aurora from asking though, as her mom discovered during a recent trip to the Eastridge Mall in San Jose on November 29.

Solorio said Aurora had a “long Christmas list that included plenty of toys” and assumed when she went up to see Santa, she would be drawing her requests from that.

That didn’t end up being the case though as her mom, who was filming their interaction, soon discovered. The video, which was later posted to aurora_solorio, captures Santa’s hilarious reaction and “the look he gave” Solorio after processing what her daughter said along with the casual raise of the eyebrows.

“Santa was very attentive to what she was saying,” Solorio said. “When he looked up and stopped and proceeded to look for me, that’s when I knew she had asked for a very special gift.”

According to Solorio, the Santa, to his credit, had the perfect response to Aurora’s request, telling her “her sister was coming soon because she was on the nice list.”

“She has been very excited to say the least,” Solorio said. In the circumstances though, Solorio thinks this was the best way he could have responded.

“He’s preserving the magic that there is in Christmas,” she said. “Of course there’s a deeper meaning to it which is Jesus Christ’s birth but I believe the best way to see Christmas is through the eyes of a child. They look forward to that special moment with Santa all year long.”

Solorio is just happy she captured this sweet and hilarious exchange on camera. “Capture all your children’s moments,” she said. “You never know when a gem like this one will occur. If it weren’t for me recording I wouldn’t have something to show Aurora when she’s older.”
