SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The mayor of Shreveport is offering his thanks to the City of Shreveport for a successful Humor & Harmony weekend.

The mayor released a statement Wednesday, Aug. 14.

“I must also give a special thank you to all the city directors and employees, especially, SPAR Director Shelly Ragle, Marla Mitchell of the Convention Center (ASM), City Attorney Marcus Edwards, Property Standards Director Terrence Green, Public Works Director Gary Norman, Sportran CEO Dinero Washington, and all their staffs and employees, all first responders, including Police Chief Wayne Smith, Fire Chief Clarence Reese, Sheriff Henry Whitehorn and staff, City Marshal James Jefferson and staff, business leaders, and the entire Shreveport community. We managed to achieve what was most important… public safety, and a positive outcome,” Mayor Tom Arceneaux said.

The mayor went on to say the city worked closely with the “highly professional” members of G-Unit’s staff.

“Working together produced an amazing festival that was great for our community,” the mayor said.

He said the weekend’s events exceeded the city’s expectations. He also thanked the Shreveport City Council.

“Shreveport, we demonstrated this past weekend what the word ‘teamwork’ means. Thank you once again, for your remarkable ‘I Love Shreveport attitude.’ Let’s keep the positive momentum going!” Arceneaux said.
