Shreveport’s Southern Hills invites you to do business and ‘expo’ with them

The Southern Hills Business Association wants you… to come mingle with dozens of their businesses at their upcoming Expo and Taste event.

The Expo, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24 at Summer Grove Baptist Church, 8924 Jewella Avenue, will feature at least 100 vendors, says SHBA’s Beverly Sater.

“We’ll have a huge variety, just about everything. Food people- those who don’t have a brick and mortar, and restaurants, banks, the Vacuum Cleaner Hospital, Long John Silver’s, McAlister’s, Andy’s Custard, it’s businesses who want to reach a great number of people in a small amount of time.”

The event lasts just two hours and is free to those who want to walk through and try food samples, collect swag and learn more about what the businesses have to offer. “Seeing is believing, you can put a face with the businesses,” says Harold Sater, an SHBA founding member.

In addition to businesses, Sater says Caddo Parish, the Metropolitan Planning Commission and the City of Shreveport are always well represented. “Property standards, the fire department, Shreveport Police, Public Works, Water and Sewer, all will be there,” he says. Anyone having any city- or parish-related issues will be able to talk to someone on the spot.

The Southern Hills Business Association counts about 175 paid memberships as well as first responders and representatives of local elected officials. Harold Sater says you do not have to be a Southern Hills business owner to join, just have an interest in helping make a positive difference.

Beverly Sater says the “boundaries” of Southern Hills are from I-49 in the east to Pines Road in the west, north to 70th Street and south to the parish line.

The Saters are excited about the growth and new businesses moving into the region, and say some of that will be reflected in the upcoming expo.
