Miller, a Silver Creek graduate, replaces Lisa Rohloff, who resigned in February. Brent Agett has been serving as the interim Business Office Manager since Rohloff’s departure. Miller’s appointment begins June 1, with terms of his contract to be negotiated by Superintendent Dr. Katie Ralston.

In a letter addressed to the school community, Miller said, “As a lifelong resident and proud graduate of SCCS, this role is not just a job to me – it’s a heartfelt commitment to a community that has shaped who I am.”

Miller grew up on Babcock Street and still lives nearby in the village. After graduating from Silver Creek, Miller pursued higher education locally at SUNY Fredonia with my Bachelor’s Degree in English and School Psychology. He later obtained a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Canisius College. Miller has worked for M&T Bank for the past eight years.

“We’re very excited to have him. He’s going to be an excellent addition to the Silver Creek family,” Ralston said.

At the recent meeting, the Board did more than just add a member of its community to the staff; it also celebrated one of its own for an accomplishment from many years of service.

Gregory Cole received the Level 3 Mastery Award under the New York State School Boards Association Excellence Recognition Program. Cole received a certificate of recognition from the State level for his efforts as a Board member.

The New York State School Boards Association recognizes four levels of the Excellence Recognition Program, with credits toward each stage being earned by attending trainings, workshops and other various events. Board members also receive credits for taking on roles such as Board President or Advocacy Liaison.

Cole is a former Board of Education President who has served on the Silver Creek Board of Education since 2013. In addition to his role at Silver Creek, Cole is also a Board member for Erie 2 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES.

At the recent meeting, the Board also thanked High School Principal Kyle Yelich for his service to the District. Yelich is resigning from his post at the end of the school year.

“We wish him the best on his next endeavors. He definitely left an impact in the time that he was here,” Ralston said.
