Singer Belinda Peregrin speaks out after Paris Fashion Week catwalk fall

Mexican pop star Belinda Peregrin “never imagined one of the most iconic” moments of her career would be tripping on a catwalk during Paris Fashion Week.

The Spanish-born singer was one of many famous faces walking in the L’Oreal—Walk Your Worth Womenswear Spring-Summer 2025 show outside the Place de l’Opéra in Paris to a huge crowd on Monday.

Known mononymously as Belinda, she strode confidently onto the catwalk in an all-red ensemble before taken a tumble before hitting the half-way point.

Brazilian superstar Anitta rushed to her aid and helped Belinda to her feet before the singer completed the walk and even blew a kiss to the crowd at the top of the runway before turning around to walk backstage.

She broke her silence after the stumble on her Instagram and shared videos of the moment to her main page.

Newsweek contacted Belinda’s representatives by email on Tuesday morning for comment.

Belinda’s first Instagram post showed her fall and then cut to the iconic scene in HBO‘s Sex and the City TV series where Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) suffered a similar mishap on a New York fashion catwalk.

“The most iconic moment in my life, even though it was not how I imagined it would be,” Belinda captioned the post in Spanish, which was translated by Newsweek.

The next video she shared showed Anitta helping her to her feet as the crowd cheered them on.

“It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, what is important is how you get up. Thank you Anitta,” Belinda wrote.

Her fans responded to her in the comments.

“Like the queen you are,” replied Mexican singer Danna.

Spanish rapper La Mala Rodriguez wrote, “There is no one more beautiful.”

And fellow singer Estibaliz Badiola simply added, “Princess.”

The singer also shared other people’s posts to her Instagram stories that congratulated her on her quick recovery from the fall.

Other big names to walk in the show, which was a tribute to women’s empowerment, included Andie MacDowell, Eva Longoria, Alia Bhatt, Simone Ashley, Cara Delevingne, Bethenny Frankel, Jane Fonda, Kendall Jenner, Viola Davis, Aishwarya Rai, Camila Cabello and Heidi Klum.

Belinda started her career as a child actor working on Mexican television and released her self-titled debut album in 2003, which sold more than 1 million copies worldwide, and she is considered one of the most popular singers in Latin music.
