SiouxFalls.Business Report: Harvest Creek sees progress, new wings & familiar pizza coming to town šŸ—šŸ•

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Jodi Schwan with SiouxFalls.Business visited to talk about updates at Harvest Creek and new restaurant options, including Atomic Wings and the return of Bostonā€™s Pizza.

Thereā€™s a mixed-used development near 57th Street and Veterans Parkway that continues to make strides since the pandemic.

Itā€™s taken years to develop. Where do things stand with the Harvest Creek project?

This development in southeast Sioux Falls is starting to attract more commercial activity.

Harvest Creek sits on about 150 acres and started near 57th Street near Veterans Parkway in 2019.

Itā€™s filled with single- and multi-family housing, and so far, Dollar Tree has been the only business to open there.

That will be changing, though, with DQ Grill & Chill planning a new location in the development next spring and Ace Hardware also planning to move forward with a 25,000-square-foot store on land it has owned there for several years.

We also anticipate some office activity in the area, and there is still room for some additional housing with a handful of remaining single-family lots and plans for two more multifamily projects to go along with several already filling up with residents.

More options for restaurants

Switching to the restaurant scene, Sioux Falls has a few new options.

We know everyone enjoys some dining updates, and there have been several in recent weeks.

First, keeping it on the east side, La Cantina just opened this week in a retail center at Dawley Farms between Buffalo Wild Wings and Budget Blinds.

This is from the same owner as La Plaza Fiesta at 85th and Minnesota, and it includes a huge menu of Mexican dishes, plus a full bar.

On the south side, Atomic Wings had a huge first weekend at 69th and Cliff, as people have been checking out their signature wings, chicken tenders, sandwiches and flatbreads. This is a national chain from the same local franchisees who own Firehouse Subs in Sioux Falls.

And it wonā€™t be long before Bostonā€™s Pizza returns to Sioux Falls. You might remember them from years ago on E. 10th Street. This time, theyā€™ll be taking over the former Bossā€™s Pizza inside the Ramada Hotel across from the Premier Center. The plan is to open in the next couple weeks.
