Skepta Rings the Bell to MAINS University for SS25
Boy Better Know rapper Skepta has just shut down the London Fashion Week stage, hosting his second runway show for MAINS. Chief designer Mikey Pearce and graphic designer Johnson Orchid worked with Skepta across the line, ringing the bells to MAINS University in central London alongside UK a-listers Central Cee, Gabriel Moses, and Mahalia.
MAINS returned to school with an expansive collegiate collection held at 80 Vincent Square, lining the venue’s dome-shaped structure with sticker-stamped lockers and university flags. In true Skepta fashion, the collection was kept limited, with 27 men’s and womenswear looks balanced on unisex lines. The British artist teased the collection on social media with long-haired wigs, pocketed handbags, and MAINS-branded neckties, hinting at what was to come with a furry Kickers footwear collaboration.
The packed venue was ignited by models rushing down the cement flooring, kicking things off with a graphic double-breasted suit printed with essential school supplies. Skepta’s signature oversized style was set ablaze with sheer button-downs and leather wrestling shorts, while MAINS university logos mimicked scholastic merchandise beneath exaggerated lapeled blazers and pleated culotte. Embroidered bomber jackets and USA flag sweater vests pack your wardrobe with American classics, lifted by bodybuilding characters on slashed T-shirts. Leopard and camouflage prints ran through the collection, spread across slim neckties, pocket squares, and headgear, accessorizing the range with color-blocked school bags, leather gloves, and floral wreath-printed caps. Finally, Skepta officially debuted his MAINS x Kickers collaboration with old-school leather boots stacked atop yellow gum soles in red, black, and brown colorways.
