AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Small Business Administration (SBA) announced it will close Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in the Panhandle.

The SBA will close Disaster Loan Outreach Centers at 6 p.m. Thursday in Canadian, Frtich and Borger.

“SBA opened the centers to provide personalized assistance to Texas businesses and residents who were affected by the Smokehouse Creek Fire and the Windy Deuce Fire that occurred on Feb. 26,” said Francisco Sanchez Jr., associate administrator for the Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience, SBA.

People can still apply online and receive additional disaster assistance information. Applicants can also call the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955.

Small businesses and private nonprofits may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, equipment, inventory and assets, according to a press release.

The SBA also offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits. The press release states the loans can be used to help working capital needs caused by the disaster regardless if the business suffered any property damage.

Disaster loans up to $500,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, according to the press release.

The deadline to apply for both declarations for property damage is May 13.

The deadline to apply for economic injury is Dec. 13.
