Small Business shares why it’s important to support local on Black Friday

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – While larger store chains saw an increase in foot traffic and sales on Black Friday, local businesses also offered special deals and discounts for the community.

Pollux Boutique is one of these businesses. On November 29, they offered a 15% off on all items sold.

“We have seen more foot traffic today than we’ve seen in the last couple of weeks,” said Sadye Saad, owner of Pollux Boutique.

Saad said buying local is important in many ways.

“This is a small business and my family and I own it and so it’s very impactful because not only are you making an impact on the business, but you’re making an impact on a family and the local community,” she said. “When you buy it from your local small businesses, then you make a bigger impact and that goes back into the community as a whole.”

Saturday, November 30, is Small Business Saturday, a chance for shoppers to support local businesses as they prepare for the rest of the holiday season.

“Come and shop, help support your local small businesses,” said Saad.
