Small businesses at Alexandria Mall seeing boom in business

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) – November 30 was Small Business Saturday, and small businesses at the Alexandria Mall said they saw a boom in business.

“Small business Saturday is one way for the community to invest like we do for each other,” said Jeremy Morrow, owner of Alexandria Airsoft Adventures. “It gives the opportunity for not only us to provide to the community, but for the community to see what we have to offer.”

Morrow said he has had customers come in from France and Germany. He shared that his business is the only indoor airsoft facility in Louisiana. His business offers Nerf and Airsoft combat games and is tailored for all ages, with an emphasis on family-friendly fun.

“There’s little almost nothing to do in Alexandria, so we wanted to provide something for the community to have and enjoy,” Morrow said.

Larry O’Neal is the owner of From Me to You, one of the nine businesses the Alexandria Mall highlighted. O’Neal’s antique shop offers pottery, jewelry and lumber amongst other things. He said he has seen an increase in foot traffic recently.

“We’ve had a ton of business in the last two days, Black Friday and today. Everybody’s coming in,” O’Neal said. “We’ve been full all day. It’s been exciting.”

O’Neal said he encourages residents to stop by and see what the small businesses in the mall have to offer.
