Smash-and-grab thieves ransack 5 different Oahu businesses over weekend

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Smash-and-grab thieves continue to wreak havoc on Oahu businesses over the weekend.

Sources tell HNN Investigates at least five different shops and restaurants were hit this weekend alone.

Three of those break-ins were reported at Kapolei Shopping Center just after midnight Saturday morning.

We’re told the businesses all had their windows smashed in.

Sources tell us multiple cash registers were taken.

Then, at about 11 p.m. Saturday, Aloha Island Mart in Waianae had its front door shattered.

Sources say it appears thieves were after alcohol.

Then, Sunday morning, around 5:30 a.m., records show suspects tried to break through the door at the Coach Store in Waikele.

We’re told it didn’t appear anyone made it inside.

Over the past year – there have been well over 100 smash-and-grab burglaries across the island.
