Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Specs Sheet Leaked Ahead Of Release, Accommodating Two Performance Cores Clocked At 4.0GHz With Adreno 830 GPU

The tech community is eyeing whether Samsung will go with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is on the pricier end, instead of its Exynos 2500 for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series and take on the iPhone 16 Pro Max in terms of processing speed. A while back, the unannounced chipset was spotted on Geekbench with a multi-core score of 8840, making it Qualcomm’s fastest SoC to date and competing against Apple’s A series. Now, we have the official specs sheet of the processor ahead of the official reveal.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 specs sheet leaked shows two versions of the chipset

The first week of August marks the first time the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset made its way to Geekbench with a single-core score of 2884 and a multi-core score of 8840 points. However, the benchmark score is not our only insight on the processor. A recent data sheet leaked the chipset’s specs, giving us a more detailed picture of what we can expect from Qualcomm’s next flagship processor.

As reported by SmartPrix, we have two variants of the SoC: the standard version, called SM8750, and the performance variant, named SM8750P. The latter will be the upgraded version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The standard chip will power various flagship devices from companies like Vivo, Xiaomi, Oppo, Honor, OnePlus, and even Asus.

However, the improved performance version will remain exclusive to Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra model, but we could see other flagship models opt for the powerful chipset in the future.

As per the leaked data sheet, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset will be built using TSMC’s cutting-edge 3nm technology. The chipset emphasizes efficiency, as the transistors are more densely packed, enhancing performance. Another key element of the chipset is Qualcomm’s custom Oryon CPU cores, first featured with Snapdragon X Elite and Plus laptops.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset would additionally have two high-performance cores running at 4.0GHz and six efficiency cores clocked at 2.8GHz. It will be equipped with the robust Adreno 830 GPU, FastConnect 7900 modem for supporting Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, and Qualcomm’s advanced Spectra ISP for upgraded camera capabilities. The processor would also bring some ground-breaking AI capabilities with the help of the Qualcomm Sensing Hub (QSH) that would aid in bringing ahead features like Low Power Artificial Intelligence (LPAI) subsystem.

From the leaked specifications, we now have a clear picture of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which is more focused on efficiency and improving performance over the previous processor. While we expect the SoC to be unveiled in October at the Summit 2024, rumor has it that the Xiaomi 15 might be the first smartphone to be equipped with it.
