NOVI, MI – You have a chance to meet some of the best who have ever played the games, and that’s not an overstatement. We’re talking the likes of Barry Sanders, Joe Montana, Thurman Thomas, Andre Rison, many of the World Series champion ‘84 Tigers, Vladimir Konstantinov and many more.

It’s part of a star-studded lineup coming to the first Detroit Sports Spectacular, taking place from Friday, June 7 through Sunday, June 9 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Admission and autograph tickets can be purchased here. Tickets can also be purchased at the event.

The organizer of the event says it’s all about bringing in a big variety of sports stars and dealers from across the country to cater to fans of all sports.

“Joe Montana is one of the biggest names there is, and as far as I know, has never signed in Detroit,” Brian Schwartz with Schwartz Sports Memorabilia told MLive. “There’s not only a number of Michigan athletes coming, but also athletes with Michigan ties like Steve Garvey (MSU), Mike Modano (Michigan native), Kirk Cousins (MSU), Jim Kaat (Michigan native) and Goose Gossage. Who can ever forget the home run he gave up to Kirk Gibson?”

Everyone who attends the event on Friday will receive one free random autograph from a sports star in attendance. One day passes are $15. Kids 6-10 are $10. Ages 5 and under are free. A full weekend ticket is $40.

On top of the around 50 sports guests signing autographs and taking photos with fans, there will be dozens and dozens of sports card and memorabilia vendors as well as grading companies and auction houses.

“People should walk the whole room when they attend,” added Schwartz. “And as impressive as the celebrity lineup may be, we’re going to have a couple hundred dealers. Whether you collect vintage items or Pokémon or whatever, when you walk the floor, you’re going to see every card under the sun. The trading card hobby has grown like I haven’t seen in my lifetime. You will see things you don’t normally see.”
