Sony Confirms PS5 Pro Reveal Thanks To Unlisted Video

As if there was any doubt as to what tomorrow’s special PlayStation Technical Showcase could be about, Sony has seemingly let the cat out of the bag. An unlisted video on the PlayStation YouTube channel, which is a simple teaser for the event, was published with the title of “PS5 Pro”, seemingly confirming the announcement.

As of publishing, the video remains available. However, they did update the title during the time it took to write this article to it just saying “PS5”.

PS5 Pro Rumored Specs

While unconfirmed, the rumored specs for the PS5 Pro are as follows:

  • System Memory: 576 GB/s (18GT/s) – A staggering 28% increase over the current PlayStation 5 console.
  • CPU: Identical to the current PlayStation 5 console but with “High CPU Frequency Mode,” which increases the CPU to 3.85GHZ.
  • Audio: ACV at a higher clock speed than the current PlayStation 5 console, with a 35% increase in performance.
  • GPU
    • 45% faster rendering than the current PlayStation 5 console
    • 2-3x Ray-tracing
    • 33.5 Teraflops
    • PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling)
    • Support for up to 8K resolutions
    • Custom machine learning architecture
    • AI Accelerator, supporting up to 300 TOPS of 8-bit computation / 67 TFLOPS of 16-bit floating point
