SOS! You can now buy the literal cardigan off Paul Mescal’s back
ICYMI, the internet’s favourite heartthrob (and the man that launched a spate of international celebrity lookalike contests), Paul Mescal, has been turning some looks lately. Off the back of his *especially* cool Gladiator II press tour wardrobe, GQ named him “Most Stylish Person of 2024.” And we’d have to concur. From his famously short shorts to a killer collection of caps and tiny cardigans, whatever he’s doing is working.
And from Monday 16th December, you can actually get your hands on some of those exact items, at the link here. The Academy Award nom (and huge second-hand fan) has partnered with Vinted to sell fashion pieces from his personal wardrobe which he wore during his recent Gladiator II promotional tour, available exclusively to Vinted members in the UK. Yep, you can soon buy the shirt off Mr. Mescal’s back.
Oh, and did we mention it’s for charity? All sales proceeds from Paul’s wardrobe on Vinted will be donated to Irish charity Pieta, which offers mental health support to those struggling with thoughts of suicide or self-harm. So your fandom-related shopping habit is totally justifiable, in our book.
So, what items can you expect? The hand-picked collection includes custom pieces made especially for Paul, plus unique archival pieces from brands like Jimmy Choo, cosy cashmere jumpers, and ELV Denim jeans. We’ve got our eyes on the hand-painted silk jumper by Scottish knitwear designer, B.W. Marks. This one-off piece was custom-made for Paul and was a collaboration between Mescal, his stylist Felicity Kay, and B.W. Marks.
Mescal’s wardrobe stylist, Felicity Kay, shares, “Paul has always had a strong connection to vintage and pre-loved fashion. He’s often eager to rewear pieces we’ve styled before or items from his own wardrobe. Partnering with Vinted for Paul’s Gladiator II promotion tour made perfect sense as it gave us the opportunity to delve deep into his love for second-hand clothes – in fact, I found a pair of Ben Davis workpants on Vinted, they fit Paul like a dream – no adjustments needed! They became one of his favourite pieces during the tour. But we were equally both excited about finding a way to give the clothes he wore during his tour a second life, so selling them on Vinted felt like the perfect fit, especially with the added bonus of supporting a good cause.”
See you all on the 16th.
