Special Olympics Indiana partners with Mad Apple Fitness to offer ‘Train 4 Life’ program
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Special Olympics Indiana is partnering with Mad Apple Fitness to offer a ‘Train for Life’ program in Fort Wayne.
‘Train 4 Life’ is a Special Olympics Indiana initiative is a free wellness program that focuses on strength-building and holistic health habits for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
‘Train 4 Life’ offers a 12-week experience focused on fitness, nutrition, and mental health to Special Olympics athletes ages 13 and older. It includes pre-and post-program biometric and fitness testing and group workouts as well as weekly nutrition and healthy lifestyle education.
Mad Apple Fitness is one of five gyms to be part of the launch of the ‘Train 4 Life’ program.
Special Olympics says its goal is to expand the program to 12 communities in 2025, eventually bringing it to all 92 Indiana counties.
