Sports Briefs: Pacifics suffer first loss

The San Rafael Pacifics suffered their first loss of the season on Thursday night, 11-9, as the host Dublin Leprechauns scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth during a wild rally.

The Pacifics (5-1) led 5-3 before the Leprechauns (1-5) put up four runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead. San Rafael responded with four runs in the top of the ninth, but Dublin wasn’t done yet.

Braxton King was 2-for-3 and Dan Crossan was 2-for-5 for the Pacifics, who are scheduled to meet Dublin for the fourth time just two weeks into the season on Saturday at Albert Park.

• The Novato Knicks lost the first of a two-game set against the Sonoma Stompers, 4-0, on Thursday at Arnold Field. The Knicks are scheduled to host the Fairfield Indians for a Sunday doubleheader at San Marin High School.
