The City of Springfield’s 1st Fridays series is expected to continue through October with live music, vendors and food trucks set up downtown.

The free, family-friendly series takes place from 6-9 p.m. on the first Friday of each month.

Along with the aforementioned food, music and wares, there’s also a kids’ zone provided by Grace Baptist Church, a specialty vehicle cruise-in for car buffs and more than 80 local vendors to cater to every whim, according to a press release from the city.

Farmers, artists, makers, bakers, crafters, boutiques, local businesses and downtown merchants are among the vendors expected to attend, the release said.

The next installment of the series, set for July 5, is expected to feature live music from Four on the Floor.

Other upcoming live music, sponsored by United Community Bank, include performances from The Band Entice on August 2, Creek Water on Sept. 6 and Ten Year Town on Oct. 4.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and dancing shoes, city officials said.

Almost a dozen sponsors have made this year’s series possible. They include Safe Haven Wellness & Spa, The Credit Union for Robertson County, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Aaron Slate of Edward Jones Financial Advisor, United Community Bank, Our Serenity Shop, Historic Perk, Viridian Real Estate Partners, Grace Baptist Church and the Robertson County Family YMCA.
