Startup travel app receives $2 million in seed money
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – In Birmingham, the founder of a growing travel app says they are making strides to shape the future of travel. After securing $2 million in seed money for the app, its founder says the goal now is to continue to build and reach more people.
According to CEO Ragan Stone, it’s sort of like a dating app, only for finding travel agents. The way Nicer Travel works is it connects agents to travelers based on personalized preferences, skills and interest.
The Birmingham based startup, founded in 2023, recently received $2 million in funding from investors locally and around the country.
Stone says the funds will go toward further developing the app and marketing that will help reach a broader audience of luxury travelers. According to Stone, the app uses AI and allows travelers and travel agents to connect and work closely when planning trips.
“The advisors on our platform are extremely well educated when it comes to the offerings out there and destinations out there. And even here in Birmingham we host suppliers from all over the world multiple times a month so they come here and they learn a lot. So yeah, we know the advisors do really good work, it’s just making sure the travelers can connect with them,” Stone said.
Stone says there is a live version of the app up and running right now that is constantly being updated. You can check it out in the Apple or Google Play store.
