Stretch Zone revolutionizes fitness with personalized sessions in the Capital Region

Stretching is often overlooked in fitness routines, but Stretch Zone aims to change that with its unique approach to flexibility and wellness. With locations in Delmar, Colonie, and Clifton Park, Stretch Zone provides clients with a deeper, more comprehensive stretch than they might achieve on their own.

John Bladek, owner of Stretch Zone, said, “Stretch Zone is really as simple as it sounds. We stretch our clients. We try to keep it very uncomplicated. But we work with a ton of different issues.”

The facility caters to individuals with back pain, posture problems, and athletes of all levels. Regional General Manager Sari Medick, who was once a client herself, shared her personal experience.

And now my trick is I can get on the floor with my hands in the air and get down, put my feet out in front of me, put my feet back underneath me. My hands are still in the air. Stand up. And no aches and pains,” Medick said.

Sessions typically last 30 minutes, with the first session offered for free. Each practitioner is certified by Stretch Zone and often has a background in wellness, such as physical or occupational therapy. “We go incredibly slow to make sure that everything is safe. The client is in full control of how far we push and how far we stretch. So, we never really have to worry too much about any sort of risk of injury,” a practitioner explained.

Medick, who suffers from arthritis and fibromyalgia, likens the experience to getting a massage or seeing a chiropractor, claiming it may be even better. “It makes a big difference for me to be able to say to every client who comes in, I do understand. And I do know that this is going to help,” she said.

Stretch Zone also participates in races and charity events, including those for the American Heart Association, to offer demonstrations and promote self-care.
