Structure of commercial business a total loss following fire in Taylor County

TOWN OF MCKINLEY, Wis. (WEAU) – The structure of a commercial business is a total loss following a fire in Taylor County.

According to a press release from the Sheldon Fire Protection District, on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 7:09 a.m., the Sheldon Fire Protection District was called for a commercial structure fire at Country Cut Meats, in the Town of Mckinley.

Crews arrived on scene to find that the structure was fully engulfed.

The roof collapsed, making it difficult for firefighters to fight the fire.

The press release says at 8:31 a.m., the fire was deemed under control, and all units were clear of the scene at 12:17 p.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown currently.

The building was deemed a total loss.

No one was reported to be hurt in the fire.
