Stuff to do in Wilmington this weekend while we wait for fall weather

Maybe it was just the oppressive humidity this week weighing me down, but I’m about ready for some fall weather to truly arrive in Wilmington.

We’ve got at least about a week until that happens, though, so I suppose we should make the best of this summer-like weather while it lasts.

At any rate, there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself in the Wilmington area this weekend no matter whether it rains or not, or how hot and humid it is or isn’t. Let’s get into it.

Weekend weather outlook

It’s going to be a weird weather weekend, let’s just put it that way, OK? Windy and stormy with a high likelihood of rain on Friday, giving way to a warm and sunny Saturday before heading back into rain mode for Sunday. Let’s make the most of it.

Go | See | Do

This weekend does mark the first full weekend of fall in the Wilmington area, even if it won’t feel quite like fall yet. You’ll have to wait a week or so for the big fall festivals to kick into high gear, but this weekend offers a great assortment of stuff, from musical comedies (“Young Frankenstein” at Thalian Hall) and intriguing plays (“Everybody” at University of North Carolina Wilmington) to music festivals (Pier Palooza at the Pier at Port City Marina) and concerts by top local and touring artists.
