Suicide Squad Season 2 Plot Twist Has Fans Rolling Their Eyes
Highlights
- In case you haven’t been following, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is still receiving regular content updates.
- It received its Season 2 update, and plot points that had previously been leaked were indeed real.
- Without spoiling anything, everything you probably assumed was going to happen, is actually happening.
Despite its mixed reception at launch, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been going strong with regular updates in the time since. First, there was the addition of the Joker, or at least a version of the Joker back in late March. And that was followed up by the inclusion of Mrs. Freeze, the Elseworld version of Mr. Freeze. All the while, the game has been slowly expanding on the plot.
In the leadup to the release of Season 2, many plot details were leaked, including a major twist involving the titular Justice League. And with the release finally here, for better or worse, those plot points are indeed true. Unsurprisingly, those who have stuck with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League since launch are a little less than enthused.
Major Spoilers for Season 2 of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to follow
Surprise, Surprise It Was All A Ruse All Along
At the end of Season 2’s story content, it’s revealed that The Flash is not dead after all. In fact, he’s very much alive. The version of The Flash that the Suicide Squad “killed” was simply a corrupted clone. That means that the rest of the Justice League is also alive.
Considering that the game has no plans to stop despite its reported $200 million losses for Warner Bros., it would appear that the ensuing seasons will see other members return, including Superman and Batman. That would mean that potentially the late Kevin Conroy’s Batman has additional dialogue recorded. It would also mean that the Suicide Squad will have gone from “killing” the Justice League to saving them.

What Happens To Batman In Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Is Cool, Actually
Batman’s fate in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a point of debate, but it’s exactly the sort of risk taking video game stories need.
That particular plot point had been leaked six months ago via datamined voicelines. It was also something that many fans had theorized all along. After all, would the Justice League really be killed off? Of course not.
Several fans took to Reddit to share some of their disappointment about the reveal, and, really, who could blame them. The game that was supposedly about killing off the Justice League is not about that after all. More so, it’ll be several seasons before the real “plot” is finished. “The lengths this game will go to disappoint in new and unexpected ways, incredible,” one gamer opined.
The roadmap for Year 1 of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
There is no word yet on a potential Season 3 release date, though Warner Bros. did confirm in June that it will see through its first-year roadmap of Suicide Squad. That first year roadmap included four total seasons with three additional characters coming in Seasons 2-4. After that, it’s anyone’s guess. That’s because Warner Bros. declined to comment on the game’s fate post-year one. “We are not yet discussing anything that is not announced,” a spokesperson told IGN. Yikes.
