Super secret Shin Akuma in Street Fighter 6 now has his first full-fledged combo video thanks to Desk
Not long after his official release it was discovered that Street Fighter 6’s newest DLC character, Akuma, has some super secret stuff that you can access the way you would a retro game’s cheats with a special code. Upon meeting the criteria in battle, players are able to gain access to what is essentially Shin Akuma, a buffed up version of the new fighter who has additional supers and special moves that you cannot access with the standard version of the combatant.
It’s a difficult process to gain access to Shin Akuma in battle, and unless both players agree to it, there’s no chance you’d be able to actually get him in a real match. However, Shin Akuma is a training mode monster’s dream, and combo master Desk has gone ahead and put together the first full-fledged combo video for the super secret boss version of the latest DLC fighter.
In order to be able to play as Shin Akuma in Street Fighter 6, you’ll have to perform some specific inputs during a specific one of his taunts. Begin by performing Akuma’s back taunt, and you’ll see him have a seat on the ground and chill out for a few seconds.
During this animation, you’ll want to mash down + all three punches and all three kicks (which is the taunt input in Street Fighter 6) to successfully activate the Easter egg. If done correctly, you’ll see Akuma calmly pull out a massive rice ball and begin eating it.
With the normal taunt, Akuma simply gets back up and joins the fight. But with the Easter egg, you’ll see him take his time and eat the full rice ball, then see a small glint of energy surge out of him as he says, “I am satiated.”
Once this is done, you’ll now be playing as Shin Akuma in Street Fighter 6. This version of Akuma gains access to two new level 2 supers, as well as a double air fireball.
Desk wasted no time jumping into the lab with this even more powerful version of the legacy character to see what all he can do on the combo front — and he sure can do a lot.
Right out of the gate, Desk kicks things off with a combo that features two air juggles using the added double fireball maneuver. The combo is extended and uses Akuma’s standard level 2 super and his level 1 fireball super to close things out for excellent damage.
The very next combo in this showcase utilizes one of Shin Akuma’s special supers. We see Zangief juggled across the screen until he’s put into the corner, and after a couple more air fireball juggles uses Shin Akuma’s Kongou Kokuretsuzan (KKZ) ground pound super to tack on big damage.
There’s some really great stuff to see here, and if you want a solid idea of what Shin Akuma can actually do in Street Fighter 6, then Desk’s new combo video is the right watch for you.
