Surfside Beach moves to permanently revoke dispensary’s business license

SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – Surfside Beach Town Council made a step toward permanently revoking the business license of a dispensary that was the center of a police search last month.

Leaders moved to revoke the license of Delta Dispensaries after a special meeting on Thursday that included an appeal from the dispensary’s owner. Another meeting is scheduled for Oct. 17 to finalize the decision.

It comes nearly a month after two people were arrested following an investigation into what police called “the sale of unregulated and untested substances represented as hemp.”

The dispensary’s owner said he will now move the business outside of town limits, while many who attended Thursday’s meeting disagreed with the council’s decision.
