Suspect charged with raping woman at Waynesboro business

WAYNESBORO — A suspect is facing allegations he raped and sodomized a woman last summer inside a Waynesboro business where she worked, according to court records.

Jamie Chacon, 44, of Petersburg, is facing a charge of rape and two charges of forcible sodomy.

Chacon, listed by Middle River Regional Jail as also being from Waynesboro, is accused of sexually assaulting a former employee at the Eagle Game Room on West Main Street, according to an affidavit for a search warrant. The business has since closed.

Court records allege the incident took place July 23 in a backroom of the business. Chacon was charged with rape in September and jailed.

On Monday, he picked up two additional felony charges of forcible sodomy after being indicted by the Waynesboro grand jury. Chacon was also indicted on the prior rape charge.

He remains at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona. A two-day jury trial in Waynesboro Circuit Court is set to start Sept. 17, court records show.
