SYKY Brings MR To Retail And Fashion In New Apple Vision Pro App – XR Today

SYKY is revolutionising retail by launching an Apple Vision Pro app, bringing mixed reality (MR) to the fashion industry.

The luxury fashion platform SYKY is kickstarting its new spatial computing experience with a showcase from the cutting-edge Japanese brand Anrealage. The SYKY application is designed to provide fashion fans with a groundbreaking opportunity to immerse themselves in the creative realms of iconic designers and prestigious fashion houses.

“At SYKY, we believe that the fashion industry is entering a period of remarkable change as realities merge and digital fashion experiences blend with the physical world,” said Alice Delahunt, CEO and Founder of SYKY.

We’re excited to continue leading this new frontier with the launch of our Apple Vision Pro app, where we will transport consumers to the front row of the fashion industry, offering them access to impeccable design and inspiration with the ultimate luxury fashion experience.”

The SYKY app aims to produce a spatial environment that vividly animates luxury craftsmanship and designs for users an immersive user experience. SYKY highlights the app’s hyper-realistic depth, textures, and narrative elements, which introduce a level of engagement previously exclusive to in-person fashion experiences such as runway shows and are now accessible through the SYKY platform.

SYKY for Apple Vision Pro is now free to download on the visionOS App Store.

More Details On The Anrealage XR Partnership

The SYKY app’s inaugural exhibition spotlights the work of Anrealage and its Founder, Kunihiko Morinaga. SYKY suggests the highlight of the showcase is the exclusive Pyramid Dress, a transformative, colour-altering creation inspired by a custom Anrealage gown donned by Beyoncé during her Renaissance tour, alongside pieces from the label’s HOME collection.

This immersive experience is crafted to foster exploration, with Apple Vision Pro’s advanced hand-and-eye-tracking capabilities enabling interactive storytelling at each juncture. Attendees have the opportunity to examine the Pyramid Dress closely, navigate around it, and engage with interactive points to delve deeper into the garment’s design, materiality, and intricate craftsmanship.

Moreover, users can go behind the scenes with Morinaga to gain insights into his artistry, collaboration, and his vision for the evolution of fashion, expressed in his own narrative.

“Fashion shows, which once required extensive travel and the experience of purchasing clothes from stores, can now be accessed simply by putting on a device in your own room,” added Morinaga. “All the constraints of reality are removed, allowing one to freely experience the extraordinariness of fashion from their own room or daily life.”

For Morinaga, who typically conceptualises his designs in 3D before actualising them as physical pieces, the creation of the Pyramid Dress for SYKY was a liberation from the constraints of real-world processes. He could manipulate an array of textures, fabrics, and shapes, culminating in the Pyramid Dress’s natural development. SYKY suggests this piece delves into the designer’s philosophy of clothing as expansive structures that transform into personal spaces for individuals to occupy.

SYKY underlines that the partnership between SYKY and Anrealage, as illustrated on Apple Vision Pro, signifies the platform’s venture into spatial computing. After the initial exhibition, SYKY is set to collaborate with other elite fashion houses to produce a series of curated XR masterpieces. Visitors can explore digital continuations of workshops, design studios, fashion showcases, or avant-garde retail spaces to examine bespoke fashion creations closely.
