T20 World Cup 2024: Know how to watch live in Australia

The Australian men’s cricket team will be in action at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, to be held in the West Indies and USA in June.

Led by captain Mitchell Marsh, 2021 T20 World Cup winners Australia are looking to get their hands on the coveted title for the second time.

For the T20 World Cup 2024, Australia have been drawn in Group B and will start their campaign against Oman at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on June 5.

They will also face reigning champions England in the premier Group B clash at the same venue on June 8. Marsh’s men will also face Namibia and Scotland in the group stage.

A total of 20 teams are competing in the T20 World Cup 2024, which makes it the biggest edition ever in terms of size. The last edition hosted by Australia in 2022 saw 16 teams compete.

The 20 teams have been divided into four groups of five teams each for the group stage.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 8 stage which gets underway on June 20, where the teams will be divided into two groups of four.

The top two teams from each group in the Super 8 stage will then make it to the semi-finals scheduled on June 26 and 27.

The final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is set to be played at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on June 29.

Australia were knocked out in the Super 12 stage at the last edition of the T20 World Cup.

Heading into the group stage, the Australian men’s cricket team won its first warm-up match against Namibia comfortably but lost the second, a high-scoring affair, to the West Indies.

Australia are already the reigning world champions in the 50-over-format as well as Test cricket. They beat India to bag the ODI World Cup last year while a victory against the same opponents saw them clinch the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 title.
