Taipei Fashion Week SS25: Designers and Illustrators Unite in Creative Showcase

Taipei is witnessing a groundbreaking chapter of fashion and illustration as Taipei Fashion Week SS25 commences at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. Under the theme “Taiwan Type Illustrated Fashion Book,” the five-day event invites innovative collaboration between emerging designers and celebrated IP illustrators, bringing a fresh perspective to contemporary fashion in Taiwan.

Minister of Culture Li Yuan set the tone for the event, emphasizing fashion’s integral role in cultural identity. The showcase opened with the “Taiwan Type Illustrated Fashion Book” group show, featuring six dynamic partnerships.

The event extends beyond traditional runway presentations with “Taiwan Type Super Swag,” a public exhibition running through October 21st that offers visitors an intimate look at the creative process behind these unique collaborations. This democratic approach to fashion presentation reinforces the event’s core message: fashion belongs to everyone’s daily life.

Among the standout collaborations, .67ARROW partnered with illustrator @saitemiss to present a post-apocalyptic vision featuring “Needle,” a time-traveling cowboy character whose presence influenced the merger of survival gear with romantic silhouettes. #DAMUR and @weiweiboy transported audiences to Berlin’s vibrant nightlife through their dreamlike collection combining soft hues with bold plaid patterns.

Adding to the creative spectrum, TANGTSUNGCHIEN collaborated with @sammi_00712 to celebrate Taiwan’s natural beauty, transforming urban landscapes and mountain views into relaxed silhouettes with playful graphics. Meanwhile, DYCTEAM‘s partnership with @Raimochi brought Taiwanese street scenes to life through practical, warm designs that embody urban resilience and personal empowerment. The collection’s focus on character definition resonated strongly with audiences, offering wearers confidence through thoughtfully crafted pieces.

Ray Chu partnered with @mich_un to create an innovative collection celebrating Taiwan’s natural elements, particularly the Crinum asiaticum flower, through sophisticated 3D printing techniques. The designs capture the vibrant energy of public spaces and community activities, incorporating elements inspired by Tai Chi and social dancing into effortlessly wearable pieces. Story Wear‘s collaboration with @chimney_animation took a sustainable approach, transforming recycled materials into future-forward designs. The collection, titled “ONE,” features artist Fish Wang’s signature orange hue throughout, evoking twilight nostalgia while adhering to specific PANTONE color standards.

Taipei Fashion Week continues Taiwan’s evolving fashion landscape, where traditional boundaries between commercial fashion and artistic expression continue to blur, forming new dialogues in fashion design. The initiative demonstrates how local cultural elements and contemporary art can combine to create fashion that speaks to both domestic and international audiences. The partnership between designers and illustrators represents a bold step forward in fashion presentation, offering a fresh perspective on how clothing can embody stories, culture, and artistic vision simultaneously.
