Taking a cold plunge at Jolt Fitness

London’s Longevity Lounge brought a set of cold plunge tubs to Jolt, where the unique experience of cold plunge therapy attracted curious individuals arriving for classes and winding down from workouts.

Cold plunge therapy involves individuals immersing themselves in icy cold baths for short periods of time.

Jolt Fitness owner Katie Sigurdson said the experience offered a rare opportunity for those living in a rural area that otherwise has limited access to unique fitness services, and that companies can often overlook rural regions like South Huron.

But Longevity Lounge’s pop-up experience at Jolt was the first time the new company has hit the road with their services, bringing the cold plunge fitness experience to the area.

According to Sigurdson, cold plunge therapy can aid in reducing inflammation and help with muscle recovery, and the practice is often used by athletes.
