Tastefully Simple to launch new year with new business model

ALEXANDRIA — Tastefully Simple, is evolving its business model to better align with the needs of today’s clients and sellers while ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

Shifting from its original multi-level marketing structure, the company has created an innovative new approach to simplify their business model, launching Jan. 1.

At the heart of this transformation is a desire to reach a younger generation. Sellers will now be known as TS Ambassadors.

“We chose the term Ambassador because it perfectly reflects what our sellers do,” Jill Blashack Strahan, Tastefully Simple’s founder and CEO, said in a press release. “They love our products so much that they instinctively want to share them with family and friends.”

Ambassadors joining Tastefully Simple will no longer sponsor or build teams, allowing them to focus on selling products by sharing an easy-to-use shopping link. They do this via social media, or at in-person experiences (once called parties), maintaining the fun, interactive gatherings the company is known for. Hosts will continue to earn rewards.

TS Ambassadors may also give a Referral link, encouraging others to sign up and share Tastefully Simple. While new Ambassadors won’t sponsor, the company is retaining a small group of heritage leaders, called Diamond and Gold Ambassadors, who may still build teams of first-line Ambassadors.

This hybrid model meets the needs of a younger generation of sellers who want a flexible side gig and income potential without the demands of leadership, but still allows for longtime leaders in the company to grow their communities.

“I don’t know of any other companies taking this approach,” Strahan said. “We built this plan after months of deliberation, designing the best long-term plan. I am confident we’re on the right path.”

Tastefully Simple is also transitioning to a streamlined, intuitive technology platform that makes it easier to connect, share, and manage a business. The combined sum of these changes ensures the company will continue to provide solutions for meals and entertaining, and also an income opportunity for its ambassadors.

“After 30 years we are stepping into 2025 with a re-imagined Tastefully Simple business model. Our goal is to be a testament of creativity, faith, and gritty determination,” Strahan said. “We have been doing this for 30 years, and we plan to be here for 30 more years and beyond.”

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
