Taxi and limousine hearing considers new transportation business

QUINCY (WGEM) – A new limousine and taxi service is one step closer to happening in Quincy.

The Quincy Police Department held a public hearing today at City Hall to hear the consideration of Integrity Community Transport LLC’s application for a Taxi and Limousine Owner’s License from the City. The owner of Quincy Premium Transportation – currently the only business in town with a license was the only person from public to attend the hearing and had no objection to their application.

The company has been providing medical transportation in the area for more than two years and they hope to expand their services to be able to pick up and transport all residents.

“We get lots of calls for just general transportation needs,” said Jay Albert, Integrity Community Transport LLC co-owner. “Needing to go to and from the grocery store, from hotels to events within the city and unfortunately until now we weren’t able to provide for that need.”

A report of today’s hearing will now go to the mayor and city council and they will decide whether to approve the license application or not.

The owners hope to open in July pending the City’s decision and plan to be open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the week and open until 4 a.m. on the weekends.
