Taylor Swift’s Versace Skirt Suit Nods Back to the ’90s
For Taylor Swift, a Kansas City Chiefs game is always her runway. Since she began dating boyfriend Travis Kelce—who is a tight end for the team—last year, Swift has attended many of his games in statement looks that are worthy of a fashion week cameo; Her Canadian tuxedos, Vivienne Westwood corsets, and vintage Chiefs merch are certainly not your average game day attire. And today, Swift continued on with her high-fashion stadium gear, while attending the Chiefs versus Broncos game at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Swift’s latest fashion serve? It’s a Versace skirt suit that nods back to the 1990s.
While Swift’s red and black checkered skirt suit is from the current fall 2024 season—the double-breasted blazer retails for $3,350, and the mini skirt for $1,695—the silhouette harks back to the golden ages of Versace, when the Italian label dominated the ’90s catwalks with its sexy, saucy skirt suits (modeled by supers like Linda Evangelista and Claudia Schiffer, no less). While the look had a slight retro feel, the rest of the ensemble leaned into modern updates—like Swift’s fitted black corset top, pointy-toe knee-high boots, and Versace’s sleek top-handle bag.
