‘Team Trump Bus Tour’ travels across ENC ahead of general election

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – With 18 left until the general election one presidential candidate team tour bus is making stops across Eastern Carolina on Friday.

Voters in Jacksonville had a meet and greet with former and current republican party lawmakers.

“I was just very happy to meet everyone and talk to everyone,” said Jerry Collmann, an attendee and Trump supporter. “Everyone has the same mindset and a true love for our country.”

The Team Trump Tour started in Jacksonville, but made stops throughout the east during the day. Later in the day, Winterville was one of those pit stops. Another supporter who attended said he is grateful to get this opportunity.

“I love any time Donald Trump comes to North Carolina,” said Ken Roe. “You walk through the streets and talk to people, there’s a certain energy in the air. I am feeling very positive about this upcoming election.”

Voters filled the Vital Sign store in Jacksonville and spoke with former Trump administration members like Chad Wolf, who was the former acting secretary of homeland security. Another member of Trump’s former administration who former Acting United States Attorney General Matt Whitaker. Others also got the chance to sign the Trump Tour Bus, which Joe McLaughlin said was unreal.

“When you look at the thousands of people that have signed the bus you realize the conservative movement that wants to restore safe boarders, protection for the unborn, and conservative principles in general,” said McLaughlin.

While in the early stages of election season, Roe says a fair election is key.

“We just want a free and fair election. We don’t want any ya know fraud with our mail in ballots.”

WITN tried to reach out to Democratic Party Chairman in different counties across the east but did not hear back from them or they did not have time for an interview on Friday.

Former President Donald Trump is set to visit Greenville on Monday.
