Teenage passion to owning a business: Cory’s Point S Tire and Auto Service

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Cory’s Point S Tire and Auto Service has operated in Rapid City for almost 16 years.

The original location was on Campbell Street, however, in 2018 they expanded to a bigger location.

“We were originally called Tri-State Tire and we grew and grew out of that location, and eventually needed to build this shop. So, we do still have that location, we service more of our fleet and non-retail customers out of that shop,” said Cory Brown, owner of Cory’s Point S Tire and Auto Service.

Brown said his love for working on cars started when he was a teenager and turned into a passion.

“Way before a teenager tearing apart lawnmowers and anything with an engine to figure out how it worked,” Brown said.

Brown says, learn about your car if you can, if you have an issue bring it to a shop sooner rather than later, and find a mechanic you can trust.

“It’s a relationship, so you want to go to somebody that you know that is going to take care of you and your car,” Brown said.

According to Finance Buzz, they surveyed a thousand adults, and 69% of drivers say they have delayed getting maintenance done, even when they know it’s time. 64% of drivers said they are putting off maintenance work. 46% of drivers have paid for repairs in the past they believe could have been avoided if they got regular maintenance done.
