Tell us: Where were you when the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004?
After 86 years without a championship, the Red Sox finally won the World Series in 2004 — 20 years ago this month.
Many fans remember the day that broke “the Curse of the Bambino,” the myth that arose after the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth — aka “the Bambino” — to the New York Yankees in 1919. Many fans blamed the sale for the team’s failures and heartbreaking losses during the World Series in 1946, 1967, 1975 and 1986 — each in the seventh game.
As the 20th anniversary since breaking the curse comes up, WBUR wants to hear from you. What did the 2004 victory mean to you?
Fill out the form below to share your stories with us about where you were when the curse was lifted. We’ll aim to highlight the most quirky, one-of-a-kind memories in a future post or newsletter.
