Texas Shopping Mall Fire Kills Over 500 Pet Shop Animals
This has got to be one of the saddest things to have happened so far this new year in Texas, and I’m sorry to even mention it at all. A Texas shopping mall fire killed over 500 completely innocent pet store animals, patiently awaiting their furever homes.
The total number of pets killed is 579, the majority of which were birds, but there were also chickens, hamsters, two dogs, and two cats. Smoke inhalation was to blame for the deaths. The actual fire was did not make it to the pet store.
It took firemen 2 hours to concur the blaze.
The tragedy occurred at Plaza Latina shopping center in Dallas, and luckily, no people were injured in the fire, which did significant structure damage to the mall, and partially collapsed the roof.
The shopping center is home to several small businesses and is also a popular place for locals looking for Latin goods and services.
Hopefully they are able to rebuild. I think it would be nice to add a memorial bench outside of the mall, or some kind of small tribute to the lost animals. What do you think they should do? I’d love to hear you ideas. Feel free to leave me a comment wherever you see this article or email me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com.
