Texas team secures spot for the Little League World Series U.S. championship game

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pennsylvania – The last time a Texas baseball team won the Little League Baseball World Series, the year was 1966.

But the Little Leaguers from Boerne are shaping up to break this 57-year-long dry spell! They are one of four teams who will be playing on the final weekend of the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Boerne, which is northwest of San Antonio, will take on Lake Mary Little League of Florida on Saturday for the U.S. championship title.

This will be a rematch for Florida, after they fell to Boerne on August 19 in a 4-1 win. Thus far, Boerne hasn’t lost a single game in this year’s series.

The international teams from Venezuela and Chinese Taipei will face off in the International championship game, also on Saturday.

The U.S. and International champions will then play for it all on Sunday’s world title game.

Let’s go Boerne!
