Thanksgiving travel set to break records

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Holiday travel is always busy and chaotic with the large influx of travelers compared to regular days of travel.

This Thanksgiving in particular is being forecasted to be the busiest travel days yet.

The Tuesday and Wednesday before, as well as the Sunday and Monday after Thanksgiving are included in the 80 million estimated travelers who will travel more than 50 miles this Thanksgiving season according to AAA.

Experts predict 71.7 million travelers will be heading home or away for the holidays by car and 5.84 million people will travel via airplane. Keep this in mind when planning out check-in, security and boarding times at both Baton Rouge Metro Airport and Louis Armstrong International Airport.
