The 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony is Basically a Celebrity Fashion Runway

Thursday’s Prelude for the 2024 Paris Olympics was practically a fashion dress rehearsal to what this weekend has in store. Along the Seine River on Friday, thousands of athletes set sail for the inaugural Opening Ceremony, commencing the official Games. But the competitors were only part of the spectacle: Throngs of A-list celebs attended the big event, and of course, pulled out all of the fashion stops.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo hit the Eiffel Tower step-and-repeat, method dressing their upcoming “Wicked” film characters: Grande donned a Glinda-approved, light-pink Thom Browne gown, while Erivo emulated Elphaba in an emerald green dress. Emma Chamberlain sported head-to-toe Ralph Lauren from the brand’s Spring 2008 collection. Nina Dobrev also wore Ralph Lauren, featuring a patch-worked bomber jacket, white tee and midi shorts.
