This week’s picks include two speedy running backs surpassing rushing-yard expectations, a wide receiver undergoing a career resurrection hitting the Over, a quarterback not needing to hit his yardage projection, and fans in Duval seeing The Griddy after an opposing touchdown.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have almost their entire starting offense out or dinged, and Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores is going to terrorize Mac Jones.
As a result, the Vikings offense has the potential to put up big points because of numerous opportunities. There isn’t a Jaguars cornerback who can match up with J.J. for 60 minutes. A touchdown (or perhaps another) is coming.
The Denver Broncos defense is formidable, but Hopkins has integrated into the Chiefs offense to the point that he’s a first option on downfield plays. Hopkins has the ability to be a volume receiver who can catch four or five short passes and still hit this number, but one deep throw early can all but assure going over this number.
The 49ers are facing an undermanned Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bucs QB Baker Mayfield may throw for 300 yards, because he’s double-digits behind and abandoning the run. Purdy doesn’t have that problem and hasn’t topped this number in the last four games. With the return of Christian McCaffrey to the running game, the Niners will need a passing attack to move the chains, not score points.
After a slow start with a new team, Swift has hit his stride in the Bears offense. Over the last five games, Swift has had 16 or more carries in each game, topping this number in four of those. The New England Patriots are averaging 137 rushing yards allowed a game. If Swift has an average game against that defense, he’s a lot closer to 90 yards than 70.
The Houston Texans are allowing 114 rushing yards a game, and they haven’t played the Lions yet. Gibbs has topped this number each of the last seven games (84, 83, 78, 63, 116, 127, 65). Eventually, the Lions will figure what everyone else knows – let Gibbs rush 15-20 times a game and good things will happen.
